Yeosu City Ordinance on Systematic Development of Sustainable Offshore Wind Energy

The Mayor of Yeosu City shall formulate and implement a comprehensive offshore wind power management plan every 5 years and shall establish the Yeosu City Offshore Wind Power Generation Public-Private Consultative Body, chaired by the Deputy Mayor. For offshore wind power generation businesses of 3 MW or more, the Mayor shall prepare specific measures for residents' participation and shall endeavor to ensure that the profits benefit local residents evenly.

The purpose of this Ordinance is to prescribe matters necessary for sustainable offshore wind power generation for present and future generations by systematically developing offshore wind power in accordance with international climate change countermeasures and preventing the disorderly development of public waters, which are public resources of Yeosu City.
